Wire Rope Sling Assembly Photos

Many companies manufacture wire rope slings, but who wants just anybody making the products that you rely on to make sure your employees go home safely each day. Here at Halo, we don't just inspect the final product, but our staff monitors every aspect that goes into our products. We begin our quality control process with the selection of the best components, and the process ends only when the slings are taken out of service. We take pride in our manufacturing standards, so here is a peek into our process that delivers the highest quality products, bar none.

Step 1: Cut the wire rope to the desired length making proper adjustments for the dimensions of the eye.

Step 2: Slide the sleeve onto the wire rope, and use the pneumatic vise to hold the wire rope in place for the next step.

Step 3: Begin separating the strands and core of the wire rope into two sections starting at the 2 O'clock position.

Step 4: Unwrap six lays of wire rope.

Step 5: Wrap the two sections into each other.

Step 6: Ensure that the two tails are approximately the same length.

Step 7: Unwrap the two tails into strands.

Step 8: Slide the sleeve onto the loose ends.

Step 9: Bring the Sling over to the press to begin pressing.

Step 10: Press the sleeve in increments and rotate the sleeve approximately 30 degrees between each press.

Step 11: Ensure that the sleeve is pressed uniformly and inspect the sleeve and surrounding areas for defects. Use a sleeve gauge to make sure the sleeve is pressed within specifications.

Step 12: On the opposite, end place the certification tag on a small piece of wire and insert it into the un-pressed sleeve. Then repeat Step 10 and Step 11.
